A few weeks ago I read about the Boobie-thon going up for adoption. My initial reaction was to go and send in a request to adopt it. I’m good at this sorta thing, I told myself.
But than I had a bunch of doubts and didn’t know if it was right for me.
Will I do a good enough job? Will I be able to raise a lot of money? Do I have the time to invest in such a large project?
Than I reminded myself that for the last 10 years, I have been coordinating a huge golf charity event to raise money for pancreatic cancer research. And I did a damn good job with it. Raising more money every year and making the event better than the year before. Since I just quit my day job, which is how I got involved in the golf outing, and started working for myself full-time, I decided that I really wanted another charity event to get involved in. Not something that would necessarily replace the golf outing. And here it was, right in my face.
So I sent in my request. I was totally excited but also preparing myself for the possibility that a ton of other people inquired and they could very well be better than me and no matter what, that would be alright.
To my surprise, Robyn thought I was the perfect fit for the job. They picked ME?
THEY PICKED ME!!
Thank you Robyn for creating and managing a great event every year for the past 5 years and for allowing me the opportunity to see it continue on!!
