I talked to my girl Donna Donna today. She is the little southern belle who sold us our house. She wanted to let us know that the framing of our house is almost complete. She went down thar today, to take a quick visit, and apparently it’s all looking quite fine.

She let us know that they will be starting on the next steps, which will include the rough plumb and running the electrical wiring while simultaneously putting on the roof and the vinyl siding.
HOLY SHIT THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING!
Once that’s all done, they hang the drywall, which takes all of a day or two, max. Than we do a pre-finish walk through. After that, we’re looking at another 35-40 days to paint, put in the floors, the appliances, all the kitchen stuff and everything else you put into a new house.
I guess that means that right now, if things continue to go as scheduled, we’re looking at a closing before the first day of Fall. Which really, fits in perfectly for us. I didn’t want to move in the dead hot humid heat of August. I wouldn’t even mind if closing wasn’t until October. That would give me plenty of time to move everything from our apartment in NY to the house in NC and get unpacked and settled before Christmas.
It’s becoming more real as we go.
